Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03), House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member, and Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Senate Appropriations Committee Vice Chair, introduced a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded and allow negotiations to continue over full-year bills that ensure Congress, not President Trump or Russ Vought, decides how taxpayer dollars are spent. The CR also addresses the health care crisis Republicans have single-handedly created and protects Congress’ power of the purse, rejecting President Trump’s illegal “pocket rescission.”

The House of Representatives voted to participate in the Conference Committee to finalize the fiscal year 2026 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; and Legislative Branch funding bills.

Today, House Republicans marked up their last partisan fiscal year 2026 funding bill. They used this opportunity—not to write bills to avert a government shutdown at the end of the month—but to advance their extreme 2026 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies funding bill that defunds law enforcement; makes families, women, and children less safe; and hurts our economy.
