Republicans on the House State, Foreign Operations Appropriations Subcommittee advanced a partisan funding bill that weakens our national security, cuts global health, surrenders American global leadership and influence to our adversaries, and puts the American people at risk.

Today, Republican members of the House Appropriations Committee voted along party lines to approve the first six subcommittee funding allocations which include steep cuts to domestic programs in anticipation of a substantial increase in defense spending. House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) delivered the following remarks ahead of the vote:

Today, Republicans on the House Appropriations Committee pushed through the fiscal year 2027 Financial Services and General Government funding bill on a party-line vote. The bill overwhelmingly benefits billionaires, big corporations, and the well-connected at the expense of the working class, the middle class, and vulnerable Americans. It makes communities less safe and enables individuals to commit fraud and sell dangerous products.

House Appropriations Committee Republicans today released the fiscal year 2027 State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs funding bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. The legislation weakens our national security, cuts global health, surrenders American global leadership and influence to our adversaries, and puts the American people at risk.

House Appropriations Committee Republicans released their fiscal year 2027 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies funding bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. This bill increases costs for rural communities and cuts funding for programs that support farmers and help hardworking people feed their families.
