During today’s House Appropriations subcommittee markup of the 2027 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies funding bill, House Democrats highlighted how the bill would raise costs on American farmers, cut assistance to hungry families, and defund programs that support rural communities.

Today, Republican members of the House Appropriations Committee voted along party lines to approve the first six subcommittee funding allocations which include steep cuts to domestic programs in anticipation of a substantial increase in defense spending. House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) delivered the following remarks ahead of the vote:

Today, Republicans on the House Appropriations Committee pushed through the fiscal year 2027 Financial Services and General Government funding bill on a party-line vote. The bill overwhelmingly benefits billionaires, big corporations, and the well-connected at the expense of the working class, the middle class, and vulnerable Americans. It makes communities less safe and enables individuals to commit fraud and sell dangerous products.

House Appropriations Committee Republicans today released the fiscal year 2027 State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs funding bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. House Appropriations Committee Republicans released their fiscal year 2027 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies funding bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. Today, House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro issued the following statement on the release of Republicans’ partisan budget resolution that would give U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) $70 billion until 2035 on top of the $140 billion they received in the Big Beautiful Bill.
