"It will surprise no one to say that there is a student debt crisis: 44.7 million people owe $1.5 trillion in federal student loans, more than credit card debt or car loans. But less well known is this. We are facing a student loan servicing crisis."
The hearing, “Addressing the Public Health Emergency of Gun Violence,” is the beginning of a robust discussion on federal funding for gun violence prevention research as Congress enters the fiscal year 2020 appropriations process.

This is an oversight hearing. This subcommittee is going to review the impact of the administration’s policies on the Affordable Care Act, specifically with regards to affordability, the increasing number of uninsured, and the quality of the benefits available to people.
