Today, the House passed the Republican fiscal year 2027 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies funding bill. As costs for groceries go up, the bill cuts $200 million from fruit and vegetable vouchers for women, infants and children. Today, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) concluded that the Department of Energy’s (DOE) decision last year to steer hundreds of millions of dollars provided by Congress in fiscal year 2025 for the research and development of clean energy sources toward energy sources favored by Secretary Christ Wright violated the law.
