House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03); Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee Ranking Member Grace Meng (D-NY-06); and Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee Ranking Member Lauren Underwood (D-IL-14) sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Department of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick expressing deep concern that recent freezing, delays, and cancellations of critical resources promised to communities across the country will impact our nation’s ability to prepare for and respond to major natural disasters.
Today, Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY-06), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies of the House Appropriations Committee sent letters to the leaders of the Department of Commerce, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and National Science Foundation, calling out the administration’s unacceptable failure to submit detailed spend plans for each agency to the Appropriations Committees, as required by law.
