In a new letter, House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03), Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Subcommittee Chair Matt Cartwright (D-PA-08), and Democratic Members of the House Appropriations Committee today urged President Biden to nominate Shalanda Young as Director of the Office of the Management and Budget.

"Shalanda Young has an impressive, lengthy record of hard work and smart budgeting across all of the federal Departments and programs," the Appropriators wrote. "We urge that you choose her now for the Director position at the Office of Management and Budget."

The Appropriators noted Ms. Young's long service to the House Appropriations Committee, including a history-making tenure as Clerk and Staff Director, and her deep knowledge of the federal budget-setting process.
