House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita M. Lowey (D-NY) today filed the conference report on legislation that will keep the federal government open and fund key national priorities. The legislation, negotiated by a bipartisan, bicameral conference committee, is expected to be considered in the House on Thursday.
House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita M. Lowey (D-NY) today announced Vice Chairs for the House Appropriations Committee’s 12 subcommittees in the 116th Congress.

The House today approved, by unanimous consent, a Continuing Resolution to reopen all federal agencies through February 15 and provide back pay to federal employees. The Senate approved the legislation earlier today and House passage cleared the legislation for the President's signature. In addition to the Continuing Resolution, the House voted to go to conference with the Senate on a funding bill for Homeland Security.

"I am pleased that the government will now reopen and federal employees receive the pay they deserve. As we head into conference negotiations, I look forward to working with my colleagues across the aisle and across the Capitol to craft a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security that provides smart, effective solutions for border security while staying true to our values as Americans," House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita M. Lowey said.

“After Congress passes the legislation and President Trump signs it, I look forward to working with my colleagues across the aisle and across the Capitol in conference negotiations to craft a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security that provides smart, effective solutions for border security while staying true to our values as Americans.”
