The House Appropriations Committee today released its reports accompanying the fiscal year 2022 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies and Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies appropriations bills.
“After decades of disinvestment and the devastation of the coronavirus pandemic, the American economy is seriously out of balance, favoring the wealthy and well connected and leaving working families behind. But we can reverse these trends. With our funding bills this year, we will invest in the American people: creating good-paying jobs, growing opportunity, and providing a lifeline to the middle class, working families, small businesses, and the vulnerable."
"Our nation’s service members, military families, and veterans sacrifice so much for us. In turn we owe it to them to ensure they receive the resources they deserve and the services they need. With an overall discretionary increase of $11.4 billion above 2021, the fiscal year 2022 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill upholds our commitment to servicemembers, veterans, and their families and rebuilds the infrastructure that serves military families and veterans. Within the military construction portion of the bill, the legislation also protects global democracy with important investments in military facilities."
The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations today approved by voice vote its fiscal year 2022 bill.
