The bill we are considering represents a good, reasonable approach and continues our long commitment to our veterans and our military facilities.
Mr. Chairman, I believe that your mark has done a lot of responsible things and if this bill remains intact I believe that we will be able to report out a bill with bipartisan support.
I am concerned that if another BRAC is authorized, we will never get to any real savings, just moving military families around from one base to another.
Our servicemembers make our military great and it is our responsibility to make sure they are taken care of.
We must not turn our backs on those who are serving our country. That is one of many reasons why Congress should avoid full implementation of sequestration by passing a balanced plan that closes tax loopholes, trims entitlements, and slows future growth of spending.
