“I believe we should all be enormously proud of this bill. This legislation will do a substantial amount of good for the American people.”
"The strength of the bills that we have considered and the quality, the tenor, of the debate was outstanding, it reminds us all and it should remind us all that this is the best committee in the House of Representatives and, in fact, our work is at the center of the government and it doesn’t go forward without us."
The House Appropriations Committee today approved the fiscal year 2022 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies funding bill on a 33-26 vote.
“The Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies bill before us meets this moment for the families and communities we represent. For far too long the American economy has left the vulnerable, middle class, and small businesses behind. And the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have left many hard-working Americans struggling to get by. That is why I am proud that this bill supports small businesses, including manufacturers, and creates good-paying jobs."
"From economic development and support for manufacturers, to weather forecasting, climate research and resilience efforts, to space exploration and scientific research, to fighting crime, protecting civil rights, and improving policing and the criminal justice system---the CJS appropriations bill impacts every American and is a force for good in so many ways."
