Senate-passed Support for Ukraine, Israel, Indo-Pacific, and Lifesaving Humanitarian Aid Divided into Three Funding Bills

WASHINGTON — House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) today announced her support for the package of three security funding bills introduced in the House that mirror the Senate-passed bipartisan National Security Act, 2024.

The three bills introduced today provide support for Ukraine’s battle against Russian tyranny and Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists, as well as security for Taiwan and deterrence against Chinese aggression, and to address humanitarian crises in Gaza, Ukraine, and in other populations caught in conflict zones.

“After House Republicans dragged their feet for months, we finally have a path forward to provide support for our allies and desperately needed humanitarian aid,” said Ranking Member DeLauro. “The three funding bills expected to be considered this week mirror the Senate-passed package and include support for Ukraine against Russian aggression; Israel in its war against Iran and its proxies, like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis; and our Indo-Pacific partners against an adversarial China. It provides long overdue humanitarian aid for the millions of civilians who have been caught in the crossfire across these theaters, including in Gaza where innocent Palestinians are facing unthinkable circumstances. We cannot retreat from the world stage under the guise of putting ‘America First.’ We put America first by demonstrating the power of American leadership – that we have the strength, resolve, and heart to fight for the most vulnerable people, protect their freedom, and preserve their dignity. I urge swift passage of these bills.”
