Today House Appropriations Committee Republicans passed the 2024 Legislative Branch funding bill that fails to move the institution of the House of Representatives forward. House Democrats were united in their opposition, voting unanimously against the bill.

House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) released the following statement on the last-second postponement of scheduled full committee markups of the “Interim” Subcommittee Allocations; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; Legislative Branch; Homeland Security; and Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies bills.

During today’s House Appropriations Subcommittee markup of the 2024 Legislative Branch funding bill, House Democrats highlighted how the Republican funding bill takes us back. 

The House Appropriations Committee today released the draft 2024 Legislative Branch funding bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. The legislation provides annual funding for the Legislative Branch of the United States government, including the United States House of Representatives, the Capitol Police, the Congressional Budget Office, and the Library of Congress.

Today, House Appropriations Subcommittee Ranking Members praised President Biden's 2024 budget request. Reactions are below.
