“The bill includes $13.6 billion for the IRS, an increase of $1 billion above fiscal year 2022 and continues restoring the IRS from draconian cuts this agency has suffered for over almost a decade. This investment will support more effective and efficient enforcement activities that address taxpayers in all tax brackets. This funding will also support better customer service by reducing wait times and increasing assistance to people trying to pay their taxes."
"I’m proud of this bill. The investments within it strengthen our commitment to making government work for American’s working-class families."
"I reject the false dichotomy that we must leave our values at the door as we look to protect our nation and strengthen our security. DHS plays a critical role in keeping our nation safe and we must support and strengthen these efforts while respecting the dignity of those who reach our borders and ensuring they receive due process under the law."
“The Homeland jurisdiction includes some of the most controversial issues this Committee faces. That makes it even more important for the Subcommittee to work collegially. As a founding member of the Subcommittee, I believe we have done that relatively well over the years, and I very much appreciate the contributions of the Ranking Member and all the members of the subcommittee to maintaining that approach."
"I am proud to advance this legislation which builds on the success of 2022 to provide Americans the support they so desperately need. We will invest $242.1 billion, an increase of 13 percent above 2022, for the programs at HHS, DOL, Education and their related agencies."
