"I am aware the majority intends to advance a one-week stopgap Continuing Resolution. It bears repeating that seven months into the fiscal year, this should not be necessary.

President Trump's 2018 budget request is a betrayal of his promises, and would have a disastrous impact on job security; health; schools; safe, clean, and secure communities; and American leadership. It is a framework to shift more and more burdens onto the shoulders of working families.

House Appropriations Democratic staff today issued a report detailing the impact that some of these reckless proposed cuts would have on families and communities around the country.
