Supreme Court Justices to Testify Before House Appropriations Committee
WASHINGTON – Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Elana Kagan will testify before the House Appropriations Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee on Tuesday, July 14th. House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) issued the following statement:
“It has been nearly a decade since any of the Supreme Court justices have come before the House of Representatives, despite our annual approval of their budget, and I have repeatedly called on them to testify. Supreme Court justices have a duty, just as cabinet secretaries and agency heads, to answer our questions and provide information to the American people relevant to their budget requests. I look forward to Justice Elena Kagan’s and Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s testimony.”
