RAP SHEET: President Trump and Russ Vought are Breaking the Law, Stealing from Communities, Usurping Congress
**NEW RESOURCE** Trump and Vought’s litany of abuses violate the law and deprive American communities of crucial resources
WASHINGTON — Since the day they took office, President Trump and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russ Vought have been breaking the law, blocking Congressionally-approved public funding, and depriving American communities of crucial resources that were allocated on a bipartisan basis. A new fact sheet released today by House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) lays out some of the most flagrant violations of the law perpetrated by President Trump and Russ Vought.
“This administration is lawless to its core,” said Ranking Member DeLauro. “Ever since the moment they took office, President Trump and Director Vought have been breaking the law. They have blocked funding for schools, they have fired internal oversight officers, they have dismantled entire agencies created by Congress. They are, at this very moment, illegally blocking more than $5 billion in SNAP funding from being distributed to hungry families. Day after day, this administration undermines the power of Congress, while Republicans sit idly by and let them do it. President Trump and Director Vought have nothing but contempt for the rule of law. We must stand against this law breaking and protect our authority as a co-equal branch of government.”
