WASHINGTON — As President Trump and Director Vought unlawfully cut off food assistance for millions of Americans, and Republicans extend their vacation while refusing to address the health care crisis they created, House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) released a new fact sheet on the impacts of President Trump’s shutdown and how he is breaking the law to inflict more pain in communities across the country. 

“President Trump and Russ Vought are repeatedly breaking the law to withhold food assistance from millions of Americans while sending $40 billion to Argentina. Since President Trump’s shutdown began on October 1, he and Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought have continued to dismantle the federal government and demoralize the federal workforce. Nothing has ‘forced their hand.’ President Trump and Director Vought are choosing to make it worse,” said Ranking Member DeLauro. “Make no mistake, President Trump and Russ Vought are going out of their way to repeatedly inflict this pain on the American people.”
