DeLauro Statement on Court Ruling Striking Down RFK Jr. Vaccine Policy

March 16, 2026

WASHINGTON – Today, Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released a statement after a federal judge blocked Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s changes to the childhood vaccine schedule:

“RFK Jr.’s attempts to gut the childhood vaccine schedule were not based on science. His dangerous conspiracy theories and lies put children and our communities at unnecessary risk. There was no new data, no medical expert review, and no public comment. This was a unilateral decision that put millions at risk of preventable diseases. I offered a measure to reverse this illegal move. Republicans blocked it.

“What HHS did was unlawful and the federal court agreed. I am grateful for this ruling. But the fact that we needed the court to intervene is a damning indictment of RFK Jr.’s approach to public health.

“We must reinstate qualified vaccine experts in government and keep America’s children safe from preventable diseases.”
