House Republican Continuing Resolution Was Never a Serious Attempt to Prevent a Government Shutdown

WASHINGTON – House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) issued the following statement on the passage of House Republicans’ continuing resolution:

“The funding bill we considered today was never a serious attempt to avoid a shutdown and keep the government open. Now that we are done wasting time on this incomplete, hastily constructed, one-sided continuing resolution, let’s work together to get an agreement we can all support. It is time for Chair Cole, Chair Collins, Vice Chair Murray, and I to come together to negotiate a serious continuing resolution that has the chance to become law.”
