Ranking Member Espaillat Statement at the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Request Hearing for the United States House of Representatives

Congressman Adriano Espaillat (D-NY-13), Ranking Member of the Legislative Branch Subcommittee, delivered the following remarks at the Subcommittee's fiscal year 2025 budget request hearing for the United States House of Representatives:

Thank you, Chairman Valadao.

Good morning Ms. Szpindor, Mr. McFarland, and Mr. McCumber.

I am looking forward to hearing from each of you regarding your fiscal year 2025 budget requests.

I would like to take a moment to thank all the officers, officials, and their staff for your extraordinary work over the past year to uphold the safety and integrity of the legislative process and those who serve within it.

You all do an exceptional job serving this body and providing a host of services that are necessary for us to represent our constituents and address our country’s critical needs.

The overall fiscal year 2025 request for the House of Representatives is $1.9 billion which is $81.7 million or 4.41 percent above the fiscal year 2024 enacted level.
