WASHINGTON — House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Nita Lowey (D-NY) released the following statement on the inclusion of $1.68 billion in disaster relief in the Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill:

“I am pleased that there has been bipartisan agreement on the urgent need to help families affected by Hurricane Florence and other natural disasters across our nation, and that this funding has been included in the FAA reauthorization bill.

“While this down payment is important, it is obvious that more funding will be needed to repair transportation infrastructure and address other needs in the wake of this devastating storm. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure that we meet these obligations in the months ahead.”
