House Passes Bill to Extend Government Funding Through December 23

December 14, 2022
Press Release

The House tonight passed the Further Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act. The legislation is a short-term continuing resolution that extends federal government funding through December 23 to provide time to complete negotiations on fiscal year 2023 appropriations legislation.

“This Continuing Resolution is a simple date change that keeps the government up and running as we negotiate the details of final 2023 spending bills,” Chair DeLauro said. “I am encouraged by the agreement we have reached on a framework that provides a path forward to enact an omnibus next week. The House and Senate Appropriations Committees are working around the clock to negotiate the details of spending bills that will be supported by the House and Senate.”

The text of the continuing resolution is here. This bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
