FACT SHEET: Republicans Abdicate Their Responsibility to Govern

September 9, 2024

WASHINGTON —Today, Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro released a new fact sheet detailing how the 6-month-long continuing resolution House Republicans are expected to consider this week hurts veterans, the military, disaster assistance, and domestic investments.

“The majority knows that we cannot fund the government without the support of both Democrats and Republicans in the House and the Senate. A half-year continuing resolution that includes Trump’s Project 2025 policies is no way to govern,” said Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03). “We need a continuing resolution that ends in December and fully meets the needs of our veterans and their families, the brave women and men who continue to serve our country, and the hardworking Americans counting on Congress to act in their best interest.”

The new fact sheet on House Republicans’ continuing resolution is here. DeLauro’s full statement on the bill is here.

The fact sheet DeLauro released in August comparing Trump’s Project 2025 to House Republicans’ fiscal year 2025 funding bills is here.
