DeLauro Statement on Passage of Continuing Resolution
WASHINGTON — House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) released the following statement on House passage of a Continuing Resolution to extend government funding to March 1 and March 8:
"I am relieved that this continuing resolution was drafted and passed with broad bipartisan, bicameral support, and I am optimistic about what it portends for the eventual conclusion of the fiscal year 2024 appropriations process.
"While a lot of work remains, including responding to President Biden's supplemental requests for our urgent and escalating national security needs, we are further along in the process of funding our government than at any point this past year. There is finally mutual understanding and acknowledgement that every government funding bill must earn the support of both Democrats and Republicans in the House and in the Senate.
"If we continue to negotiate with this common understanding, we will not need another continuing resolution. I hope and anticipate that this temporary extension of federal funding is the last."
