DeLauro Releases Fact Sheet from The Tortured Topline Department

WASHINGTON — House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member and Chair of The Tortured Topline Department Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) released a fact sheet on House Republicans' attempts to shortchange American families. Considering the cuts detailed yesterday, this fact sheet calls for nothing less than a one percent increase in both nondefense and defense funding, consistent with what both parties already agreed to.

"House Republicans spent the year in chaos, repeatedly slashing public education, law enforcement, health care, infrastructure investments, and more," DeLauro said. "By proposing $711 billion in nondefense funding for 2025, this would cause the same Republican chaos as 2024 and leaves on the table at least $75 billion in investments in American families."

"Consistent with the bipartisan budget agreement, funding for both nondefense and defense must increase by nothing less than 1 percent over 2024," DeLauro concluded.
