DeLauro Congratulates Granger on Becoming Appropriations Committee Chairwoman
WASHINGTON – Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03), today released the following statement to congratulate Congresswoman Kay Granger on the Republican Conference officially naming her Chairwoman:
“I congratulate Congresswoman Kay Granger on her new role as Chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee.
“Chairwoman Granger is the first Republican woman to lead the Appropriations Committee and has a history of being a trailblazer, as she was the first woman to chair the Defense Subcommittee and serve as mayor of Fort Worth, Texas. With our Senate counterparts Senators Patty Murray and Susan Collins, the Appropriations Committee will be the first Committee led on all four corners by women. It is an honor to be part of this historic group.
“Chairwoman Granger and I have served on the Appropriations Committee together for many years, and I look forward to continue working together on this great committee.”
