July 15, 2020 Statement
"This bill improves economic security of communities across the country and betters the lives of the American public, whether it be improving their tax filing experience, protecting their financial investments, promoting small business creation, or combatting drug trafficking and much more."
July 15, 2020 Statement
"The Financial Services and General Government bill directly impacts hardworking families, workers, and small businesses, many of whom were already struggling before the pandemic and are now facing serious hardship."
July 8, 2020 Statement
"The subcommittee’s current allocation is $24.6 billion. This is an increase of $808 million above fiscal year 2020. In addition, we have included $67 billion in emergency funding for broadband, Federal buildings, and Land Ports of Entry across the nation."
July 8, 2020 Statement

March 11, 2020 Statement
"We’re interested in learning more about whether the FCC has sufficient resources to complete its ambitious agenda, and if it is realistic to take on all of this work. I also want to discuss the importance of prioritizing consumer protection. We continue to see that when it comes to policies that assist wireless and broadband companies, the FCC can’t seem to move fast enough. In the process, it undermines competition and threatens to waste limited Federal dollars. But taking action to protect consumers seems like an afterthought."
March 10, 2020 Statement
"This Budget slashes billions from the EPA and Department of Education. It cuts medical research by $3.3 billion and reduces CDC funding. It eliminates Community Development Block Grants and low-income assistance programs. OMB has proposed some of these cuts year after year, even though Congress has stepped in repeatedly to restore critical accounts."
March 4, 2020 Statement
"While I’m pleased that the request includes a substantial increase for the IRS, I am disappointed that it also continues to request funds outside of the discretionary budget caps, despite it not being included in the budget agreement reached late last year. In addition to zeroing out CDFI grants, the budget cuts funding for the Special Inspector General for TARP by 20 percent—despite the continued obligation of billions of dollars for TARP programs that will continue into 2023."
March 3, 2020 Statement
"I believe the appropriations process benefits tremendously from engagement and input from Members of Congress. You represent a wide array of districts and citizens who are impacted by the important issues covered in the FSGG Bill."
February 26, 2020 Statement
"This subcommittee recognizes that an effective Judicial branch is critical to upholding our democracy, and my colleagues and I will work together to provide assistance where possible."
